Albert "Red" Eskew, 83, of Ashland, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at his son's residence in Williamsburg, Va.
He was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Ashland, the son of the late Eugene and Lula Williams Eskew.
He was a retired supervisor for CSX Railroad, a member of the 13th Street Freewill Baptist Church, a Kentucky colonel and sang with The Eskew Family Gospel Quartet.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Eskew; one sister, Ola Castle; and five brothers, Frederick Eskew, Ira C. Eskew, George Eskew, Billy Eskew and Ernest Eskew.
He is survived by a son, Kevin Eskew of Williamsburg, Va.; a sister, Virginia "Jenny" Clay of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with the Rev. Bill Smith and the Rev. David McKinney officiating. Entombment will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
