Barbara Castle, 78, of Ashland, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Boyd County, the daughter of the late Elonzo Martin and Mona Cora LeMaster Cordial. She attended Catlettsburg Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Earl "Butch" Castle; two brothers, Lon Cordial Jr. and Lowell Cordial; three sisters, Pauline Skaggs, Imogene Davis and Daisy Thompson; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Castle.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Castle; a daughter, Teresa Ann Wirzfeld and husband Greg of Ashland; a son, Phillip Ray Castle and wife Jackie of Ashland; two sisters, Olive Beatrice Michaels of Ironton, Ohio, and Ruth Maude Ingram of Ashland; six grandchildren, Matt (Aubrey) Daniels, David (Shelley) Daniels, Sabrina (Mike) Minnehan, Phillip Force, Sarabeth (Chris) McCoy and Barbara Castle; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by Bishop Andy Turner and the Rev. Howard G. Wirzfeld. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
