ASHLAND - Betty J. Warren, 73, of Ashland, formerly of Elizabethtown, died peacefully Wednesday morning in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, with her loving family at her bedside, following an extended illness.
Betty was born June 28, 1940, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth Blevins Roark.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Vine Grove and attended Fairview Baptist Church. While residing at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center, she enjoyed Sunday services with Brother Dale Maddy. Betty was the life of the party and was adored by anyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Warren in 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Settle of Nashville, Tenn., and Clayton Settle of Elizabethtown; three daughters, Susan Worsley and husband Allen of Ashland; Nichole Freeman and husband Rob of Ashland, and Leona Cowden, and husband James of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Philip and Jay Roark; a sister; Linda Brown; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 16, 2013, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Mike Rice and Pastor Dale Maddy. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home.
