Cathern Runyon

Cathern L. Runyon, 82, of Catlettsburg, Ky., died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Lawrence County, Ky., a daughter of the late Linzy Harman Nunley and Pluma Poe Nunley.
In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Runyon Sr., in 1981; a son, Buck Runyon, in 2001; sisters Cora Ross and Emogen Berry; and brothers James Ronald and Ray Nunley.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Macedonia Church in Catlettsburg.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Linzy (Marcia) Runyon and George Crisp, all of Catlettsburg, James (Arlene) Runyon of Rush, Ky., and Charles W. (Debbie) Runyon Jr. of Catlettsburg; a daughter, Reva Sturgill of Ashland, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. today, Sept. 1, 2010, at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland by Pastor Fred Chaffin.
Visitation will be after noon today at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Boyd County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Patient Care Fund, 12800 Princeland Drive, Ashland, KY 41102.
