Dolores VanHoose (1931-2009)
Dolores E. VanHoose, 77, of Ashland died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Ashland, Ky., the daughter of the late Leonard and Nora Daniel DeHart. She was a homemaker and an artist with a studio at the Pendleton Art Gallery where she was selected artist of the month in 2008. She was of the Christian Science faith and a member of various art clubs in the area.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband William J. VanHoose and a grandson Ricky Vaughn. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Vaughn and her husband Butch of Ashland, Ky., and Paula Kay Fraley of South Point, Ohio; a son William David "Bill" VanHoose of Ashland, Ky.; a sister Mildred Hoffman of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Bill DeHart of Tucson, Ariz. and Paul DeHart of Port Charlotte, Fla.; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 15, 2009, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
