CATLETTSBURG - Dixie Berry Carter, 93, of Catlettsburg, now stands in the presence of the Lord following her passing on Saturday evening, June 29, 2013, in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Carter was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Blaine, to the late Ren and Matilda May Berry.
Her husband, Raymond Carter; a daughter, Ruth Ann Carter Runyon; a son, Clyde Raymond Carter; a brother, Clyde Berry; and a sister, Ruby Runyon, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Carter was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a faithful member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She loved working in her flowers and yard.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandsons, Mark Runyon and his wife, Tammy, of Hamilton, Ohio, and Col. Todd Runyon and his wife, Tracy, of Germany; great-grandchildren Courtney, Allyson, Skyler and Jacob; a son-in-law, Carl Run-yon of Hamilton; sisters-in-law Eloise Carter of Ashland and Dora Carter of Kingston, Ohio; a special niece, Linda Sue Hampton and her husband, George, of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. Words of comfort will be offered by Brother Paul Badgett. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Those wishing to call on the Carter family may do so after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
