Donnie K. Coulter (1953-2008)
Donnie K. Coulter, 54, of Twin Fork Road, Catlettsburg, passed away early Sunday morning, Feb. 24, 2008, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mr. Coulter was born March 23, 1953, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late Marguerite Day VanHorn and stepfather, Deward "Dick" Vanhorn.
He was a retired welder after 33 years with Marathon Ashland Petroleum #2 Refinery in Catlettsburg. He was an avid fisherman with a grow anything "green thumb," and a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Sadly left behind is his adoring wife, Linda McCoy Coulter. The home they have shared for 33 years has been blessed with one son, Toby Coulter and his lovely wife, Tiffany of Ashland. Also surviving are two sisters, Rita Touma and her husband, Dr. Ralph Touma of Russell, and Erma Brown and her husband, Tom of Ashland; a half brother, Mike VanHorn of Tennessee; one precious grandson, 4-year-old Casey Coulter, whose Papaw always said "that boy hung the moon !"; close friend and brother-in-law, David McCoy; close friend and uncle, Larry Ashley; and special caregiver and sister-in-law, Sheila Ferrell.
A funeral service in honor of the life of Donnie Coulter will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Tom Jackson and brother-in-law Roy McCoy will offer words of comfort and inspiration. Final rest will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Those wishing to call on the Coulter family may do so between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
