Dorothy Becraft - 1909-2008
Dorothy Mae Becraft, 98, of Ashland, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born April 4, 1909, in Ashland, the daughter of the late George C. and Hester Lee Miller Arthur. She was the wife of Wallace Becraft, who passed away in 1977.
She was a homemaker and was a devoted member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she remained very active until her health no longer permitted. She was an avid traveler who enjoyed many vacations with her brothers and sisters. She will always be remembered as a loving, caring person who saw the very best in everyone.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James William Arthur and Charles Semet Arthur; and three sisters, Georgia Kelley, Ellen Davis and Catherine Rohrer.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of loving caregivers, family and friends.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Troy Poff. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
