Dorothy Lee "Dottie" Childers Wooten, 85 of Barboursville, WV formerly of Catlettsburg, KY passed away Sunday September 24, 2017 at Emogene Dolin Hospice House in Huntington, WV.
Mrs. Wooten was born July 30, 1932 in Catlettsburg to the late David and Sara Adeline Brown Childers. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her husband Jack Wooten in August, daughter Rita Scarberry Hulett, brothers Raymond Childers, Russell Childers, Ed Childers, and sisters Elva Beincamper, Jenny Bishop, Betty Perdue, and Leta Williamson.
Dorothy attended Hatfield Elementary and Thomas R. Brown High School, worked for Sylvania and later in the Election Polls for 44 years. She was a dedicated and loving homemaker who loved taking care of her family; enjoyed basketball and was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include son David Paul Wooten and his wife Debbie of Hobe Sound, FL, daughter Teresa "Terry" Wooten of Barboursville, WV, two grandchildren, Deidre Gail Merkle and Jack David Hulett (Beth), three great grandchildren Jordan Blair Merkle, Carly Hulett, and Kendra Hulett.
There will be a Graveside Service for Mrs. Wooten at 1:00pm Friday September 29, 2017 at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Bro. Don Bolt will officiate. Friends may visit from 11:00am until 12:30pm Friday at the Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, 2702 Panola Street, Catlettsburg, KY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709.
