Edna M. Maynard, 67, of Catlettsburg, has gone home to be with the Lord after passing Friday morning March 4, 2011, in King's Daughters Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Maynard was born June 26, 1943, in Stirrat, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arnold and Mary McCormick Blair.
She leaves behind her loving husband of nearly 50 years, William "Bill" Maynard; a sister, Rose, and her husband, Bill Ferguson, of Rush; nine nieces and nephews, 21 great-nieces and great-nephews and four great-great nieces and great-great nephews, who were very dear to her and she to them; and a host of extended family and friends.
Edna was also preceded in death by her only son, David A. Maynard, in 2004; a sister, Jeanetta June Cantrell, in 2009; and a great-nephew, Christopher Cantrell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Maynard will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Mike Cox will bring an inspiring message, with Brother Paul Cox assisting. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
