Effie Charlene Clay Williamson, 93 of Catlettsburg passed away Wednesday November 1, 2017 at Knott County Health and Rehab in Hindman, KY.
Mrs. Williamson was born February 4, 1924 in Boyd County, KY to the late Floyd and Laura Tomblin Clay. Effie was also preceded in death by her adoring husband of 74 years in February 2017, their son Dennie Williamson, daughter-in-law Lori Williamson, sisters Lelia Ball, Katheryn McKnight and Wyenna Vaughn, and brothers Howard Clay and Harold Clay.
Effie was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, and flowers. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
Surviving is Effie and Paul's son Ron Williamson and his wife Shirley of Leburn, KY, three grandchildren Rod Williamson (Amy), Mica Williamson (Danny Smith), and Ryan Williamson, three great grandchildren Emily Mabry (Michael), Abigail Williamson, and Chloe Williamson, and one great great grandchild Conner Lee Mabry and soon to be born great great grandchild Weston Michael Mabry. Also surviving is one sister Phyllis Byron (Glen).
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Williamson will be at 1:00pm Monday, November 6, 2017 at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, 2702 Panola Street, Catlettsburg. Rev. Charles Allen will officiate. Final resting place in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Visiting hours will be from 11:00am until Service Time Monday at the Funeral Home.
