Ethel Stambaugh - 1950-2009
Ethel Stambaugh, 59, of Ashland, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2009.
Ethel was born Jan. 10, 1950, in Boyd County, to the late James Earl Stambaugh, Sr. and Cleopatra Nancy Temple Franks Stambaugh.
Ethel worked at the Five Star Christmas Tree Farm in Rush and attended Bear Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Okie Harold Stambaugh; a brother, Rolland Morton Stambaugh; two sisters, Hedy Cleland and Rozella Stapleton; and a grandson, Dee Anthony Mauk.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Hicks and Shawna Edwards, both of Ashland, and Christina S. Haney of Ironton, Ohio; a brother, James Earl Stambaugh Jr. of Ashland; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Stambaugh of Columbus, Ga., William E. Haney and Garrett Haney of Ironton, Jacob Michael Johnson, James Anthony Johnson, Kourtney Elizabeth Stambaugh and Savannah Brooke Stambaugh, all of Ashland, Matthew Thylor Maddux of Florida and Steven Robert Stambaugh, of Olive Hill, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Cadence, Royce and Jerry David Haney, all of Ashland; Ashley Haney of Ashland, whom she raised; and many sisters and brothers in the Lord.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, March 27, 2009, by Rev. Mike Moore at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
