Tom Bradley (1923-2008)
Frank "Tom" Wilson Bradley, 84, husband of Grace Bradley of Ashland, passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2008.
Mr. Bradley was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Catlettsburg to the late Bill and Anna Bryant Bradley. Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired stenciler/painter with GATX then C&O Railroads. He was a former member of the VFW and The American Legion and a member of Enterprise Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, a son Jason Bradley; a brother Billy Bradley and a sister Freda "Buck" Scott preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Grace Lee White Bradley, of Ashland; two sons Frank Bradley Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Raceland and Rick Bradley of Ashland; five daughters, Francis Byrd of Ashland, Lynn Simmons and her husband Mike, of Rockville, Md., Kathy Frazier and her husband, Roger, of Ashland, Marie Kipp and her husband, Keith, of Huntington, and Rose Cantrell and her husband Michael, of Greenup; three brothers, Jack Bradley, of Indianapolis, Ind., Roy Bradley, of W. Covina, Calif., and Charles Davenport of Flatwoods, and a sister Ella Grizzle of Westwood; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Raymond Stephens at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Military services will be conducted by Kenova American Legion Post 93. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland. Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
