Graden Berry (1921-2009)
Graden M. Berry, 87, of Ashland, passed away early Monday morning, April 27, 2009, in Arbors in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Mr. Berry was a son of the late Ulysses and Corilda Chapman Berry, born July 23, 1921, in Chapman, Ky. He served honorably with the United States Army European Theater during World War II, and was an operator for Gould National Battery in Huntington, W.Va.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Monnie Bellomy Berry; his only son, Gary Graden Berry and his wife, Tajuana, of South Point, Ohio; an only daughter, Yvonne Humphry and her husband, Michael, of Ashland, Ky.; a sister, Myrtle Gibbs of Greenfield, Ind; and two precious grandchildren, Amber Luby and her husband, Steve, of South Point and Andrea Bradford and her husband, Benjamin, of Apopka, Fla.
Preceding him in death are a brother, Bill Berry, and a sister, Melua McKnight.
A graveside service for Mr. Berry will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland. Words of reassurance and comfort will be offered by Nelson Collins.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Wednesday at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg.
