Hellan J. Wallace (1945-2008)
Hellan J. Wallace, 62, of Ashland, peacefully passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Wallace was born May 17, 1945, in Owensboro, Ky., to the late Tony and Martha Jones.
Hellan was a receptionist for Century 21 Brooks Wells Enterprises for the past 23 years. She will be sadly missed by all of her extended family there and the many people she touched during that time.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 32 years, George E. Wallace, who passed away on Oct. 22, 2003 as well as a brother, Buddy Jones of Owensboro.
She is survived by one son, Matthew Wallace and his fiancee, Angelique of Ashland; one daughter, Elizabeth Wallace of Georgia; one stepson, Michael (Robin) Wallace of South Carolina; two stepdaughters, Kim (Mike) Worthington of Greenup and Stephanie Dawson of Arizona. She has eight grandchildren, Courtney and Carrigan Miller of Georgia, Julia and Dalton Wallace of Ashland, Clint Nichols and Michale Skeen of Greenup, Jessica (Ace) Litchfield and Joshua Wallace of South Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Jorden and Jared Litchfield of South Carolina, Alexis Jo Nichols of Ashland and Malia Skeen of Greenup; a special nephew, David (Annette) Foster of Ashland and their children, Elizabeth and Jeremy; and a brother, Tony (Betty) Jones of Owensboro.
A loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, and a friend to many, Hellan will be missed dearly but will remain in our hearts forever. Hellan's personality made an immediate and lasting impression upon everyone she met gaining her the nickname, Sunshine, as your day was instantly brightened when she answered your phone call or greeted you at the door of her office.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Ratliff Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Marty Gute.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date.
