Imogene "Jean" Johnson, 85, of Catlettsburg, passed away Saturday morning Sept. 18, 2010, at her residence.
Ms. Johnson was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Catlettsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late Alonzo and Charity Gibson Childers.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Johnson. Jean was a member of Catlettsburg Freewill Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir and transporting her church friends to appointments.
Surviving are Jean's son, Mac Johnson, and wife Cathy of Louisville, Ky.; sisters Laverne Deering of Catlettsburg and Marie Huff of Palm Bay, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kandice Williams (Brent), Amanda Driskell (Robert), Amber Fleming (Randy) and Ami Foreman (Shawn); and nine great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kendall, Riley, Samuel, Chase, Cameron, Kilee, Dylan and Ryan.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Hank Childers.
Funeral services for Imogene Johnson will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Roger Branham will bring a message of inspiration. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Catlettsburg.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
