Jack A. Williams Sr.
Jack A. Williams Sr., 73, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Ashland, Ky., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Kobacker House in Columbus.
As a clerk at A&P, he was rapidly promoted to advertising manager in Columbus and was owner of Williams Communications for more than 25 years. Preceding him in death were his parents; sons Roger and Timothy; two brothers; and a sister.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley; a son, Jack Jr.; a daughter, Kathy; grandchildren John, Nicole, Angel, Kristi and Amy; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was chairman of both the state and metro Columbus Baptist Association, head deacon at Salem Baptist Church for more than 25 years and a member of the Printing Industry Association. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Salem Baptist Church, 5862 Sinclair Road, Columbus, OH 43229 by Pastor Terry Jesse. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington, OH 43085.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Catlettsburg, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Salem Baptist Church.
