James Ray Walker, 59, of Ashland peacefully passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Jimmy was born October 12, 1958 in Bridgeton, NJ, a son of James Robert and Betty Jo Spencer Walker of Flatwoods. Jimmy was a 1977 graduate of Millville Senior High School in Millville, NJ. He was employed with the State of New Jersey, Wheaton Glass Company and in the Parks & Recreation Department with the City of Ashland. Jimmy was active in sports and played baseball in school and also played for the City of Millville Team. He was an avid reader and enjoyed studying American History and Geography. He was an amazing sketch artist and a master at playing chess. He was kind to everyone and never met a stranger. He played guitar and liked listening to Beatles music. Jimmy was a Christian and loved to study the bible. In addition to his parents he is survived by a son Shane James Walker of Flatwoods, a sister Vickie Lynn Walker of Waldorf, MD and a host of extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held 2:00pm Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland by Pastor Jim Pridemore. There will be no visitation.
