Jane Williamson

Jane Sydney Hopes Williamson, 67, of Ashland, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland.

Jane was born June 26, 1945, in Boyd County, to Allen Charles Hopes and Rosalie Nancy Sinnette Hopes.

She was a retired medical technologist with King's Daughters Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Edward Williamson.

Jane was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 22 years.

Jane is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Timothy Allen and Eleni Hopes of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Susan Hopes Smith of Ashland; nieces and nephews, Katherine Hopes (Nathan) Harper of Anniston, Ala., Maj. Christopher Allen Hopes of the U.S. Army, Robert Charles Smith of Nottingham, Md., and Jonathan Wesley Smith of Brevard, N.C.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland, with the Rev. TJ Azar.

There will be no visitation.

Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to breast cancer research.
