Kay Riddle Wells, 55, of Ashland, loving wife of Robert Wells, went home to her Lord and Savior Thursday afternoon, Oct. 25, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Kay was born April 7, 1957, in Ashland, a daughter of Dorothy Franz Riddle Scholtens, and the late Frank E. Riddle, both of Ashland.
Kay was a 1975 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School, and a 2011 graduate of Morehead State University, receiving a B.S. in social work.
Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are three sons and two grandsons, Stephen Wells and wife Jessica of Lexington and their children, Isaac and Seth, Casey Wells and wife Tanya of Lexington, and Denver Wells and wife Amy of Ashland. Also surviving are three sisters, her twin, Kim Gordon of North Middletown and husband Darryl, Nancy Burke and husband Bill of North Middletown, and Mary Warnock and husband Carl of Ashland; and many other family members and friends.
Kay became an enthusiastic Lions fan when her sons attended and played football and baseball at Boyd County High School. She was retired from the Boyd County Family Resource Youth Service Center and a member of South Ashland United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Bob Sweeney. Interment will be in Golden Oaks/East Ashland Memorial Gardens.
Visitation and life celebration will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
