Margaret Jordan (1918-2009)
Margaret Lee Woods Jordan, 90, of Norfolk, Va., formerly of Catlettsburg, now rests in the presence of our Savior after a full and extended life. She passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, in Bon Secours - DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk.
Mrs. Jordan was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Fayetteville, W.Va., to the late Charlie and Virginia Kelley Woods. Her husband of 48 years, Franklin Leon Jordan, preceded her in death.
She was a successful, self-employed business owner. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Catlettsburg and First Free Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She loved life to the fullest and put her heart into all she was involved with.
Sadly left behind is a loving family including a son, Fred Jordan and his wife Doris of Santa Ana, Calif.; a daughter, Kaye Howell and her husband Larry of Norfolk; three wonderful grandchildren, Paul Howell of U.S. Navy, Norfolk, Va., Shae Howell of Garden Grove, Calif. and Christopher Jordan of Tustin, Calif.; and two precious great-grandchildren, Nicholas Howell and Briana Howell, all of whom she adored.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. A message of comfort will be offered by Pastor Mike Smith. Final rest to follow a solemn committal at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
