Margaret Spurlock (1935-2008)
Margaret Haney Spurlock, 72, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
Mrs. Spurlock was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Arthur and Florence Manley Haney. Her husband, Charles Spurlock, preceded her in death.
She was a retired secretary with Ross Brothers Construction and attended Holy Family Church. Margaret was a very lovable, likeable people person. Her life was all about her family, and they had a full and rich life together.
Left behind is an adoring family: two daughters, Melinda Smith and her husband, Darren, of Ashland and Rebecca Tackett and her husband, Jim, of Rush, Ky.; four grandchildren, Ryan Justice, Cort Justice, Chris Justice and Sarah Jane Smith; and a precious great- grandchild, Elijah Justice.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Mary Petitt, and a brother, John Paul Haney.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Father Joe Curry will officiate with Pastor Frank Hulett giving a personal eulogy. Committal will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Those wishing to call on the Spurlock family may do so from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Melinda Smith, 2242 Smith St., Ashland, Ky., after the funeral service.
