Mary Helms Blankenship, 76, of Ironton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, in Harbor Healthcare Ironton.
Mrs. Blankenship was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Vernon and Martha Hughes Helms.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Moore, Paulette Williams and Nancy Helms; and two brothers, Robert "Bob" Helms and Cecil Helms.
Mrs. Blankenship worked for Miller's Meat Market for most of her life. She was a devout Christian who attended Ohio Furnace Baptist Church and continued worshiping after moving to Harbor Healthcare by attending their church services.
Mrs. Blankenship is survived by one daughter, Vicki (Bill) Wurts of Franklin Furnace; one son, Jimmy (Kelli) Hughes of Ironton; one brother, Leon Helms of Worthington; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland with Pastor Matthew Mayhew officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
