Mary Pope

Mary Catherine Pope, 93, of Ashland, Ky., went home to be with her Lord and her husband on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in Kingsbrook Life Care Center.

She was born May 25, 1917, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Ebhard and Charlotte Hurley Grundler.

She was a member of the Grace Church of the Nazarene and a former employee of King's Daughters & Sons Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Pope, and a granddaughter, Allison Pope.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol P. Miller and husband William of Ashland and Louanna Estep of Ashland; a son, Forest R. Pope and wife Sharon of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, John Grundler of Virginia; four grandchildren, Kelli Fairchild, Rebecca Case, Tara Allen and Richard H. Pope; and five great-grandchildren, Katherine Case, Hannah Case, Brandon Pope, Tyler Pope and Matthew Pope.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland by the Rev. Richard Suman. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

There will be no visitation.

Miller Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
