Marylin Burdette, 84, of Ashland, passed away on July 2, 2012, at her residence.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1927, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Elza E. and Magnolia Alley Burdette.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Marion Grubb; a sister Zelpha Swafford ; a brother, Forest Eugene Burdette and two nephews, Keith Grubb and Floyd Warner.
She was a member of Westwood Wesleyan Church and the Big Sandy Historical Society. She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Mary's School of Nursing and taught and retired from there.
She is survived by a sister, Frances Hilt of Ashland; and nieces, Frances Hale, Patsy Rotramel, Juanita Warner, Teresa Barrett, Paula Compton, Glenda Reffitt, Sandy Warren, Brenda Grubb and Kathy Warner.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Philip Zimmerman and Rev. Ed Caudill. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
