Mitchell Sayler, 87, of Catlettsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland following an extended illness.
Mitchell was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Johnson County, a son of the late Ezra and Vernie Salyer.
He was the former minister of the Church of Christ in Cannonsburg, was a retired salesman with the Ben Williamson Co. and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his loving wife, Alberta Craft Salyer, in 2005. Surviving are a son, Danny Salyer of Catlettsburg; a daughter, Beverly Everman of Catlettsburg; a sister, Loretta Vanhoose of Springfield, Ohio; a granddaughter, Cynthia Dawn Whitt; and two great-granddaughters, Whitney Dawn Boggs and Ashley Nichole Farr.
Funeral serivces will be Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Preston Family Funeral Home.a��Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time.
