Patty Hatton McKeon passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28 at home.
She was 88 years old. Patty was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Fort Gay, W.Va., the only child of the late Valentine and Mabel Hatton.
She grew up in Martin, Ky., and then moved away to attend business school in Bowling Green, Ky., before coming to Ashland to work in the payroll department for Ashland Oil.
She married the late Robert M. McKeon on March 23, 1954, in Charleston, S.C. Patty is survived by two children, Robert McKeon and wife Trish and Valerie and husband Jim Sturgill.
She left behind four grandchildren, Todd McKeon, Shane Sturgill, Kelly Osborne and Shelley Hall. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren.
Patty was a wonderful lady who next to reading a book loved nothing more than caring for her family and friends. She was an avid reader, even volunteering for a number of years at the Catlettsburg branch of the Boyd County Public Library.
She was an extremely special person, one who undoubtedly made an impact upon every person's life she had met.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Catlettsburg branch of the Boyd County Public Library.
