Louise Yates - 1931-2008
Louise Pruitt Yates, 76, of Ashland went home to be with her Lord Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mrs. Yates was born Aug. 21, 1931, at Kenova, W.Va., a daughter of the late Oscar and Katherine Lambert Pruitt. Louise was a devoted loving homemaker, placing family first in her life, and a member of Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church in Catlettsburg.
Sadly left behind is her husband of 59 years, Ernest Yates; a son, Robert Yates, his wife Brenda, of Catlettsburg; a daughter, Thelma "Tootie" Howard, her husband David, of Ashland; two brothers, Russell Pruitt and Oscar Pruitt Jr., both of Lorraine, Ohio; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Yates; a brother, Tom Pruitt; and four sisters, Opal, Betty, Lorraine and Marion.
A funeral service in memory of Louise Yates will be held at noon, Monday Feb. 4, 2008, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Words of comfort will be offered by Pastor Chuck McCormick, with special music given by Scott Adams. Final rest will be at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Those wishing to call on the Yates family may do so between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
