Phyllis Artrip (1938-2008)
Phyllis R. Johnson Artrip, 69, of Ashland passed away Saturday at her home. She was born Feb. 22, 1938, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Ellis Sr. and Etta Sturgill Johnson. She was the wife of the late Charles William Artrip. She was a homemaker.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Faye Harris; four brothers, Jesse A. Johnson, William D. Johnson, Ellis Johnson Jr. and Clyde M. Johnson.
Survivors include four daughters, Debra Stevens and Beverly Hale (Buddy), both of Ashland, Karen Dameron (Jerry) and Lisa Geary (Kevin), both of Boyd County; four sons, Charles Artrip (Mary) of Ashland, Randall Artrip (Sandy) of Coal Grove, Ronnie Artrip (Ruth) and Anthony Artrip (Sherry) of Boyd County; four sisters, Charlotte Sweigart of Columbus, Edith Greene of Romulus, Mich., Patricia McGranahan of Rush and Kathy McCoy of Greenup.
Graveside service and burial will be at noon Wednesday at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Walter Johnson officiating.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home is Ashland.
