Prentice H. Rymer, 80, of Catlettsburg, went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, May 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mr. Rymer was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Catlettsburg, a son of the late Michael Lester Rymer and Allie Swanger Rymer.
Prentice served our great nation honorably with the United States Army, and retired from AK Steel after 30 years of service as a crane operator. He faithfully attended Blackburn Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed reading his Bible.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Eudora Bowling Rymer; children, Brian Rymer (Lorraine) of Catlettsburg, Terri Clark of Russell and Michelle Riffe (Charles) of Louisa; children by marriage, Dwight Black (Caroline) of Flatwoods and Charles Black of Ashland; a brother, Marvin Rymer (Elizabeth) of Gary, Ind.; sisters, Helen Brown and Beatrice Smith, both of Catlettsburg; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death is a daughter, Vicky Rymer; brothers, Paul, Bill and Charles Rymer; and sister Lucille Rymer.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Rymer will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland. Words of comfort and reassurance will be offered by Pastor Ron Riley.
