Russell E. Clark Jr., 80, of Russell passed away at his home on Thursday August 12, 2010. He was born on November 4, 1929, in Catlettsburg, a son of the late Russell E. Clark Sr. and Ada M. Clark of Ashland.
In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by a sister Delores Jean Vaughn; and a baby sister, Lois Jane.
He graduated from Thomas R. Brown High School in Catlettsburg in 1947. The following year he went to work at Armco Steel and retired from there in 1992 as an Electrical Relay Repairman after 44 years of service.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling and his hobby was working with stained glass. Russ was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sue, sons Rusty and his wife Molly, Tim and his wife Cindy and Ron and his wife Barbara all of Ashland; a brother Tom and his wife Iva of Lumberton, Texas; a sister, Shirley Watterson of Ashland; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Carman Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 with a funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. A private committal service will be held at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Russ's name to Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY 4110
