Rutha Vay Wright McNurlin, 83, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. McNurlin was born March 13, 1929, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Calvin Wright and Julia Mae Sparks Salyers. Her husband, George McNurlin, preceded her in death in 2004. Rutha was a homemaker who loved quilting and the outdoors.
Surviving are the three boys she raised as her own, Greg Justice and wife LeeAnn, Roger Wright and Mitchell Wright, all of Ashland; a brother, Orville Wright (Brenda) of Midwest City, Okla.; a sister, Beulah Phillips of Ashland; four grandchildren, Aaron Justice, Roy Michael Justice, Krystle Wright and Tiffany Wright; and a sister-in-law, Norma Nellis.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Edward Wright, Calvin Wright and Delbert Salyers and sisters Emma Wright and Beatrice Henson.
Rutha will be sadly missed by her family and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland by Brother Ronnie Day.
Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg is in charge of arrangements.
