Stephen T. Winsor (1923-2008)
Stephen T. Winsor, 84, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center.
Mr. Winsor was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Bainbridge, N.Y., a son of the late Stephen T. Winsor and Blanche Pickens.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Benton Winsor.
He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II, serving as a corporal. He was owner of Carpet Craft, attended Rose Hill Baptist Church and was a member of the Ashland Elks for 41 years.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roger (Marge) Winsor of Brunswick, Ga., and Keith Winsor of Greenup, Ky.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette Rene (Martin) Fitch of Westwood, Ky.; three grandchildren, Brittany Bowen, Lori (Mike) Hickman and Stephanie (Matthew) Chavis; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Suzanna Chavis; a brother, Kenneth J. Winsor of Unadilla, N.Y.; a sister, Anita Packer of Canandaigua, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; and numerous close friends.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Charles E. Stewart. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY 41101.
