Steven H. Dyer II (1975-2009)
Steven H. Dyer II, 34, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, in Ft. Myers, Fla. He was born Oct. 3, 1975, in Ashland, Ky. He was the son of Steven Harris Dyer of Ashland and Ava Browning Hall of Greenup, Ky.
Stevie was a 1994 graduate of Boyd County High School and attended Cumberland University and ACTC. He was a fiberoptics installer and welder. He was a member of the Heritage Freewill Baptist Church in Cannonsburg, Ky.
Stevie enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, camping, football, basketball, working and spending time with his family and friends. He belonged to the Faternal Order of Eagles and the Sons of the American Legion. He had a special zest for life and a smile that lit up the room. He loved the elderly and friends' children and was looking forward to being a dad.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rosemary Dyer.
Surviving are his beautiful wife, Tabitha Lowe Dyer and his precious daughter, Stevie Ann Dyer, born Dec. 16, 2009. Other survivors include his uncles, Drexel O. Dyer, John B. Dyer and Jeff (Amy) Dyer, all of Ashland, and Richard (Pat) Dyer of Christmas, Fla.; his aunts, Sally Dyer, Linda Dyer and Mary Ann Dyer (Sis), all of Ashland; his cousins, JR (Courtney) Floyd, Andrea Dyer, Terry Dyer, Adam (Brandy) Dyer and the fudge makers Ellen Robinson and Ann Hensley.
Stevie will be deeply missed by his family and a multitude of friends across the country. He will be forever in our hearts.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by Rev. Tim York and Rev. Edd Cook. Interment will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Dec. 21, 2009, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stevie Ann Dyer Trust Fund at the Commercial Bank of Grayson.
