Wilma Lunsford - 1927-2008
Wilma L. Dyer Lunsford, 81, of Catlettsburg, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at her home.
Mrs. Lunsford was born Jan. 17, 1927, in Fallsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late Andy and Hettie Tomlin Dyer. Her husband of 33 years, Noah Lunsford, preceded her in 1979.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Carl E. Dyer, and a sister, Mae Adams.
Even though Wilma did work out of her home, at G.C. Murphy, the Cinderella Dress Factory, Daniel's Bakery and others, her heart has always been at home with her children. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Gate City and of the Christian faith.
Sadly left behind are her loving family: two sons, Bobby Lunsford and Glen Lunsford, both of Catlettsburg; three daughters, Patty Wilcox and husband Joe of Catlettsburg, Linda Elmer and husband Harry of Ashland and Debbie Lucas and husband Bill of Catlettsburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members who will miss her greatly.
A funeral service to honor Wilma Lunsford will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. Words of comfort will be offered by Brother Talmadge Badgett. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Those wishing to call on the Lunsford family may do so between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
